Green Corn Project 3

Green Corn Project is a grassroots, volunteer-run organization dedicated to helping Central Texans in need grow their own organic vegetables.

GCP installs organic food gardens for elderly, low-income, and disabled community members as well as for elementary schools, community centers, and shelters in underserved areas of Austin. We turn unused land into garden beds that provide food, education, and a sense of accomplishment and pride for all involved in their creation and maintenance.

  1. I know very little about gardening it I am interested in growing my own garden. I have great yard space that would be perfect for it. I just would like to know how to grow my own organic garden. Thank you

  2. two of my favorite gardening books:
1 — Lasagna Gardening by Patricia Lanza
2 — Square Foot Gardening by Mel Bartholomew

combine these two brilliant ideas… simple, fun, healthy food for YOU!!

  3. I use a section next to my house every year to grow a vegetable garden and even my own family thinks I’m nuts but I enjoy being able to grow at least some of the food we eat instead of all of it coming from wherever and being purchased at a store. It’s a very fulfilling venture!
